Queen's Story...
Queen is a gentle, quiet, and affectionate greyhound that recently came to us from Derby Lane after competing in 33 races. As you can see from her photos, she is a lovely dog with a nice temperment. The first day we had her, we took her to the Talking Animals festival where there was lots of noise, people, other dogs, and even some Border Colliers playing soccer (sort of). Queen took it all in stride and did great. Queen already walks nicely while on a leash, and rides well in a cr. She is just 3 1/2 years old and is named for the musical group "Queen". She raced at Wheeling Downs in West Virginia and at Derby Lane in St. Petersburg. Queen tested as "cat friendly", so she should be able to go to a home with a resident cat. Queen is just learning about home life and is doing very well in her foster home. Queen's $250 adoption fee includes her spay, teeth cleaning, all vaccines, Bordetella (to protect against kennel cough), microchip, leash and collar, adoption guide, stuffie toy, and grooming mit. For more information or to meet Queen, please contact us at 813/272-2332.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Queen, a Tampa Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
