Pancho - MD's Story...
Hello, my name is Pancho. I am about 4 years old, and I'm such a lover. I look older than I am, but it is the dapple in me, because I'm a black and tan dapple smooth dachshund! Do not be fooled, I am a playful and happy pup. My favorite things to do are cuddle with my foster parents, and chew my rawhide bone. I like my foster brother and sister, and I get along great with children. I'm ok with cats too! I am completely house trained. I love it when the doorbell rings...that means I get to meet new people! I have been diagnosed with Cushings disease, but I am expected to live a normal life. I take a medicine every night called Trilostane. It is purchased through a compounding pharmacy each month for about $65. If you didn't know I had Cushings, you would never be able to tell by how I act. I am a happy-go-lucky fella, and I love life. Please don't be afraid to consider me for adoption, as I'm a normal dachshund in EVERY way. Here is a link for more information on Cushings: Since I take medicine every day, I've been labeled as "special needs". All this means is that I cost less to adopt! My adoption fee is $150 instead of the usual adoption fee. I'm in a foster home in Crofton, MD. Please contact my foster mom at for more information about me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pancho - MD, a Jacobus Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Jacobus, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Jacobus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacobus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacobus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacobus paves the way for another one to be saved.
