My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little elfin girl is a darling teeny dog. She is very, very short and is the cutest thing ever. We know her mother was a dachshund and she looks very much like a purebred with her long body and short legs, but there appears to be a drop of something else. To add to her impish appearance,Sprite has a tail that has a 90 degree bend at the tip of it. (This is most likely a birth defect that is a result of her position in utero.) All in all, Sprite is so cute that everyone who comes to see other dogs is immediately enchanted by her.

Sprite is one feisty little girl! She had an extremely tough babyhood as her former home was so bad the owners were ordered to surrender all of their dogs. As a result,Sprite does not handle new things/people well. The sight of a new scary dog in the home can elicit "I'm being killed" screams. A stranger trying to pet her can cause growling complaining. She loves "her" people and is indifferent to strangers. Because Sprite can be Ms. Growly Pants, she needs to go to an adult only home.

Sprite loves to play with the other dogs. She has learned about cuddling under the covers in the big bed. She loves to get outside to romp. She is still a puppy and therefore will chew anything she can get her teeth into.

Sprite would love a canine brother to help show her the ropes and to wrestle with her.

Sprite is doing great at her housebreaking. She crates quietly in her crate for bedtime (but boy does she want out the minute you get up!). We estimate her adult weight to be 8 to 9 lbs.
