Shorty's Story...
meet Shorty. he came to the rescue about 6 months ago . someone found him in a park with his legs wrapped in duct tape and sticks. when examined we found out his legs were not developed from being in a small crate probably the first 6 months of his life. so the result was, he walked on his elbows. our vet decided to leave the legs alone to see if shorty could build his muscles up in his legs on his own. 6 months later he is walking upright. he is still very clumsy though. Shorty is 1.5 yrs (April 2012).
he should be an only dog for a family with no small kids as he sometimes gets possesive over his food. a strong pack leader is what he needs. he lives with 5 other dogs in his foster home. so it is possible for him to adjust. but like i said-a strong pack leader. he is totally house trained. although i do crate him when i leave. to prevent any mishaps while i am gone either with another dog or chewing something in the house. he would not be a dog park kinda guy. has to show everyone who is boss. he takes correction well. and is over the challenging thing quickly.
Shorty is about 45-50 lbs. now and should be done growing. he does love his crate. he will go in alll by himself most times. if you think you could give this cute guy a forever home just submit your application at www.rescueahart.org and we can discuss his needs.

Shorty is up to date with all vaccines, rabies, microchipped(hart registers to the microchip company for you) neutered, parasite free, on heartorm prevention and flea and tick prevention

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shorty, a Cincinnati American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
