Pete's Story...
With his one brown eye and one blue eye and his oh-so-expressive face, Pete is certainly a head-turner. Affectionately known as "Mr. Happy," this young pooch is full of good-tempered adolescent energy. Most likely left in a backyard, Pete came in unused to leash-walking; however, he is making great progress in learning to walk in tandem with his volunteer handler. Pete is curious about the world and takes in all the sights and sounds around him with great interest. He definitely likes to be around other dogs, and will play with abandon when paired with the right dog. We think Pete will thrive in a home where he will get good boundary-setting and lots of opportunities to exercise his young body. Come meet this sweet boy, who sits patiently in his kennel waiting for his devoted walker, looking up at you with that one blue and one brown eye, and find out whether you are not as smitten with him, as we are. Check out this video of Pete playing with his shelter bff, Carla: http://vimeo.com/24446675.

Act quickly to adopt Pete. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pete, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
