Meet Tawney! (AKA Riley). This beautiful girl was adopted less than a year ago by a nice family and now they are too busy and travel too much to keep her. They are surrendering her back to the rescue in hopes of her finding a new home with a family that can spend more time with her and wont have to keep her crated so much. She is housetrained, crate trained, and is a graduate of PetSmart's basic training course and she knows the commands sit, stay, down, off, crate, bed and watch. She doesn't like to be outside for very long unless she's on a walk. She is leash trained and is enjoyable to walk. Her current family loves her dearly but knows that she deserves a better lifestyle. They are prepared to keep her as long as it is neccessary and will wait for the "perfect" family to adopt her. This baby girl is less than two years old and needs an active family with time to run, play, and socialize. If you are interested in her, please let us know that you would like to begin the adoption process.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tawney, a Hagerstown Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
