Shakira's Story...
Shakira was found roaming the neighborhood of one of our fosters back in late February along with her two buddies (grown daughters?). They were both adopted quickly, once we de-ticked, vaccinated, spayed, and groomed them; but it was discovered that Shakira was pregnant! On 3/2/11, she gave birth to five little pups (2 didn't make it; the other 3 are healthly and thriving). Since her puppies are almost 8 weeks old and ready for adoption, so is she! She is about 30 pounds of love! Friendly and happy and she's been a very good mom. Shakira is estimated to be only about 2 years old. Please go to www.dogswithoutborders.org to contact us for more information and/or to submit an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shakira, a Encino Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Encino, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Encino.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Encino already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Encino breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Encino paves the way for another one to be saved.
