Anita's Story...
The lovely Anita arrived at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter, Brookhaven, NY on 11/10/08! This is just a tragedy. Yet, despite her long stay at the animal shelter, Anita has NOT lost her zest for life or her deep love for people.

Can you believe she has been here so long? Still, she is so very sweet, full of life and full of enthusiasm whenever you show her tasty treats:) Oh, and can Anita play! Anita is a wonderful and loyal companion that any deserving human would be happy to snuggle with!

Anita would prefer to be the only four-legged companion in your life.

Please come meet Anita... she has been here way too long. For more information on Anita, call 631-286-5598. Or, email: companionpets@optonline.net

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Anita, a Smithtown American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever for sale in Smithtown, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Smithtown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithtown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithtown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithtown paves the way for another one to be saved.
