HEY, Y’ALL! MY NAME IS ROXIE. (Actually, it is Roxanne, but Roxie seems to fit me better: Roxie, the smart, spunky, snazzy Blue Heeler!) My story is going to seem pretty egotistical, BUT there is a difference between confidence and cockiness! And Roxie is the former.

If you know anything about dog breeds, you know the reputation of Blue Heelers, and all those characteristics reside in me. I am always ready to go. What do you wanna do? Throw Frisbees? Got it. Take a run? Got it. Play catch? Got it. Do some agility training? Got it. Go places with you….anywhere? Got it! The best words for me are, well, vibrant and alive! Just say the name Roxie out loud. ROXIE is FOXY! HA! Foxy Roxie. Yep. That about says it all.

See?! That is another trait of Blue Heelers—intelligence. I think we are waaaaaaay up at the top of dog IQ’s, along with Border Collies. Like Border Collies, we like to DO things; we like adventure; we like to be where the ACTION is! I am only 4 months old, so I can be easily trained to do anything; I am eager to learn.

Do don’t adopt me if you want a sleepy lap dog. No, Sir! I am Roxie the Disco Queen! Give me something to do, Man! Haven’t you seen The Dog Whisperer?!

On my softer side, I am loyal—known for that, too—and will love my family. And I am hoping it is yours. I hope you see my face, my name, my breed, and say “That’s it! That’s the dog I want! She is perfect for me/us.” I am pretty darn happy here at Ahimsa, but I need a permanent home to start a new adventure. So bring it on. Ask for Roxie the Foxy Lady. I will come running! Roxie
