My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 06/26/2011: Nena is a sweetheart. She is 3 years old and weighs a healthy 10.5 lb. She is being fostered in Boynton Beach. Her FM had this to say:

Nena has attached herself very nicely here. She love small noisy toys, free time in the backyard, rides in the car and most of cuddling or snuggling. She is very affectionate and wants to follow me everywhere. Anyone who wants to be the center of Nena 's life -she is perfect. It would be best for her to be an only dog because she is so clingy and is assertive about wanting to be the whole world to her family. She looks you right in the eyes and trys to communicate with you. She is like having a best friend with you. She likes to play fetch, chase flying birds or looking for burried treasure anywhere in the house. She is funny, adorable, smart, obeys directions, would do anything to make you happy and loves company. "

UPDATED BIO 05/28/2011: Nena is a wonderful little 3 year old 10 lb girl who was surrendered by a breeder so she could have a family of her own. Nena is recovering from ear surgery (she had a bad ear infection, and scratched so hard she developed a collection of blood on her left ear). Nena's other ear is a little jagged on the edges. We're not really sure if she's had ear infections her whole life or if the ear was caught on her breeding cage. Either way, her ears are fine now, and Nena is a happy little girl. She LOVES to play with toys (especially squeaky toys) and LOVES affection. Nena is also 100% housetrained (smarty pants!). Her hair is growing in nicely (her coat was lackluster. She's on a high quality dog food and has improved TREMENDOUSLY). It's hard to imagine, but when her facial hair grows in, Nena is going to be the most beeeeautiful girl in all yorkie land! Please email her FM for more info. Nena gets along well with other dogs, but she tends to be a tiny bit alpha. She could be the only dog or have low-key doggy sisters or brothers... but she always gets to that toy first! :) Oh yeah, she also can entertain herself for hours with that squeak toy. She's so funny! She's waiting for you!!

UPDATED BIO 05/01/2011: Hi, My name is Nena and I am a 3 year old 9 ½ pound yorkie girl. I was surrendered by the Breeder who used me to make more puppies. I have been in my new foster home since last Saturday, April 24th. My foster mom says she is very proud of my progress. I have gone from peeing on the floor anyplace, to using a wee wee pad or going outside. I am proud of me too cause I like it when my FM tells me how good I am and hugs and kisses me. I have a special toy and I bring it to my FM all day until she takes it away at 1 and at 8. I nap at 1 and FM can’t stand it after 8!!!! I eat kibble with a little wet food and love my food. I am living with FM and three other fur babies. My FM’s 2 dogs and Keebler, another foster. The first 3 days were a little hairy as we didn’t all like each other but FM is very proud because none of us bother each other anymore. I would love a home where someone would play with me and give me a lot of attention. I would not like being alone all day. I was a little snappish and bossy when I first got here, but my FM is telling me how I need to behave and I do whatever she tells me because I know she is my pack leader. I am going for my first vet visit on Friday and will let you know how I make out. I need to be spayed and have a dental. Tomorrow I get my first bath as FM wanted me to get a little more comfortable before she scared me with anything new. She says she thinks she may get more water on her than on me. But………that’s for my next update after my vet visit! Keep your fingers crossed for me and FM. She says that someone will be really lucky to get me as soon as I get used to living in a house with a real family which I am doing very quickly.

INITIAL BIO 04/25/2011: Nena is a sweet 3 year old 9 lb little girl who is being fostered in Boynton Beach, FL.

Nena and Portia were surrendered by their breeder. Nena is far more outgoing than Portia. She gives lots of kisses, LOVES to play with toys, and loves being petted and loved on. Nena, like Portia, has some work to do in the housetraining department, but she is proving to be a very smart little girlie. She has mastered the game of fetch, and she does tend to seek out the wee wee pad more often than not. Nena has a sparse coat on her ears. She will be getting a full checkup including bloodwork to make sure she's OK. Then she will have a spay, dental, and all her vaccines. In the meantime, a good diet including fatty acid supplements should help give her hair back its luster! She'd like a special home of her own. A backyard would be preferable because she doesn't know how to walk on a leash. Thanks for reading about her!
