Maroone is a handsome Rotti/Hound mix!! Maronne (brown in Italian) was found in a local UPS parking lot along with Speck, another dog recently adopted. Speck now named Buddah is in a wonderful home with Angelica nad family and we would love the same for Maronne. Maronne is currently in boarding at a local vet and getting to know the benefits that humans can provide. He has gained some weight and looking just as handsome as ever Maroone has been neutered, had all his vaccinations, and tested negative for distemper and heartworm. We first hope to find a foster home for Maronne so that he can experience life in a home as opposed to in boarding or a parking lot. THIS IS THE DOG! is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. This is the Dog! does not have a shelter. Our dogs and cats are in boarding and in foster homes primarily in Homestead, FL. We are a small group of volunteers.
It is worth the drive South from Miami or North from the Keys to find your canine or feline companion. This Is The Dog! (or Cat!) for you!
We have adoption events at PETCO in Homestead on the first and third Saturdays each month from 12 Noon - 3pm Homestead FL Our adoptable animals can also be visited by appointment with our foster parents. Adoption application must first be on file email adopt@thisisthedog.com for an application. Petco location 2565 NW 10th Court, Homestead, FL 33033, directly off the turnpike, south at exit 2
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. Email adopt@thisisthedog.com for an Adoption Application and fax to 305-247-9127 or email back
2. Meet with the dog or cat and bring treats
3. Complete Adoption Contract
4. Adoption Donation $75 for cats and $150 for dogs, $200 for puppies under 6 months old
We try to get all pets in our care a full veterinary exam before adoption. This may include vaccinations, spay/neuter, and dental and grooming services as needed. The adoption fee also includes a microchip.Cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids, and dogs are tested for Heartworm.
Adoption fees and donations are very critical to our existence -- they help us to continue rescuing these pets and to make sure that they are healthy and properly socialized before being adopted.Thank you for considering an animal from THIS IS THE DOG!
