Figaro's Story...

Hi! My name is Figaro. I'm a very handsome long-haired, neutered male who is 3.5 years old and I weigh about 14 lbs. I came to PFL as a stray, lost and scared - unable to find my way home. I'm a low maintenance, laid back dude. You don't even know I'm around. I don't demand anything; I don't mind other cats (I'm totally oblivious to them, like they don't exist). I am very, very mellow. I like to be petted; sometimes I like to be picked up but not carried around a lot. The best word to describe me is MELLOW. I'll be a great companionship for someone looking for a nice, quiet, low-key, handsome cat. I am excellent about always using the litterbox. I like to scratch my nails on wood, so I need a scratching post with the wood pole exposed. Please give me a home where I'll be loved for life. I'm a really cool cat. Just meet me and see! Adoption fee: $60.

Adoption and Foster Care Application:

Adoption Process:
Complete the application at the link above or send an email to to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. This is a pending period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Figaro, a Troy Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Troy, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
