Hope's Story...
Hope is a beautiful, brown, female tabby looking for a nice, quiet home. Hope has come a long way in the past few months. She is very shy and somewhat independent, but she would be an amazing addition for a pet owner that has patience and takes joy in watching a shy creature begin to trust. Hope may never be an overly friendly cat that loves to be picked up and snuggled close, but her foster has seen her change from a scared kitten that would not come out from under the bed, to a sweet cat that likes to purr and snuggle at night. Hope plays well with her sister Joy – who is also up for adoption - as they chase each other across the room and take turns trying ‘sneak attack.’ She has had her shots and has been spayed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hope, a Davis Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Davis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
