Trudy's Story...
Trudy is another one of the gorgeous Ladies we have. She LOVES attention and people. She would be a big lap dog if you let her! Trudy would make a trusted family companion. Many well-mannered Southern children have grown up with a trusty "coon hound" at their side. Trudy has been exposed to children and does well with them. We don't know how she is with other dogs or cats. Since she is a hunting breed she might not like the company of cats much. If you are interested in adopting Trudy, you can visit her at the Lauderdale County Animal Shelter located at 3265 Curve Nankipoo Rd in Ripley, Tennessee. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8am-2pm (winter) and 8am-4pm (summer). Saturday 9am-1pm. We are closed on Sunday. Our phone number is (731) 836-7387. New animals arrive daily so please come visit if you don't see what you are looking for on our website. If you are a rescue group or out-of-state adopter interested in our animals, please e-mail us as helplcas@gmail.com.

Act quickly to adopt Trudy. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trudy, a Ripley Black and Tan Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Black and Tan Coonhound for sale in Ripley, or seeking a Black and Tan Coonhound dog from a breeder in Ripley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ripley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ripley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Black and Tan Coonhound breeders who help with Black and Tan Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ripley paves the way for another one to be saved.
