POGO's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.

POGO's Story...
Hi - my name is Pogo. I'm a 4 yr old purebred male chi looking for a forever home. I'm tan with black trim on my ears and now weighs 5 lbs. I've put on needed weight and now am lookin' good. I'm ready for a forever home.

I was picked up as a stray on the streets of Dayton by a local shelter. When Mr. Russ came for a visit to the shelter, he spotted me and took me home. I was frightened and had some chi attitude at first - but, now I'm a sweet boy and have a huge smile. I now will smile on command. LOL I have lots to smile about now!

I've been neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, had a dental, and been heartworm and fecal tested. I received a good bill of health. The vet did note on my records that I have some Alopecia on ears. (which might have been caused by frost bit). No biggie. I'm just fine and a spunky little fella.

One of my favorite things is chasing my tail and going around in a circle so fast I get dizzy. My most favorite is snuggling up next to my foster mom and giving her kisses. I'm a real lap baby. I'm working on the potty-training - I'm not perfect; but, will wear a belly band without any problems. I love to eat my kibble and love treats - what dog doesn't?

My ideal home would be an older couple or a single person (who doesn't plan on children). I can get a little attitude with small kids and due to my size, feel that the best match would be kids that are teens who can read dogs. Don't get me wrong - I like kids (at least some I've already met at Adopt-a-tons, etc). - I just might be afraid of them jumping at me or scaring me.

Someone who is familiar with the chi breed is preferred - because most will know their big personalities in the little package. I would be a good apartment size dog - and don't need a lot of exercise -- but, will need to be walked / taken outside to continue my potty-training. I get along with other dogs; but, I really don't necessarily need a companion. If I don't have to share affection, it might be nice! You will love my little face and big heart if you meet me. Give me a chance for a forever honme - I promise to be a good boy.

Thank you! Pogo

Pogo does deserve someone who will provide a secure loving home and someone who will continue his training. According to his foster home - he's one of the sweetest little dogs they have ever fostered. He's developed into a real charmer.

Pogo is a doll - and will be an exceptional companion for the right home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

POGO, a Beavercreek Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Beavercreek, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Beavercreek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Beavercreek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Beavercreek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Beavercreek paves the way for another one to be saved.
