Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Knock, knock. Sammi here. Is my forever home and family out there? I am starting to look for you. I am about the cutest little basset girl you will ever hope to see. I came to AzBHR from the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, where I had been staying as a "found dog". No one knows what my previous life was like. I was so very thin that my foster mom said she had been given a skeleton for Halloween, but now she is trying to fatten me up like a Thanksgiving turkey. I really like that because I get three to four meals a day, and boy does that make my two foster sisters jealous!! I was estimated to be 2 years old, but mom thinks I am not too much past my puppy stage since I still act so much like one.
I am very clever and very smart. I learned the doggy door in one short afternoon, but I still need reminders on WHY I need to know how to use it. We are working very hard on housebreaking and other inside manners (I like to chew, too, mostly doggy toys). I can jump pretty high, so keeping me confined involves more than just a silly child safety gate, and getting on the furniture is no challenge at all (my foster sisters need a ramp to get on the bed). I am crate trained, but I don't always like it. I love to play with toys and the other dogs here. I don't know what a cat is yet. I love everyone I meet, but have not been around children since I was "found". I would probably like them too.
I am spayed, current on all my shots, and microchipped. I am still being treated for a cough, but should be ready for adoption soon. I hope you are looking for me, because I am certainly looking for you. I promise lots of love and devotion.
