Melody's Story...

Meet Melody. She and her siblings were saved from a shelter where they were scheduled to be put down. She is a beautiful little kitten who is now enjoying life. She is currently fighting an eye infection which we are sure will clear up 100%. Melody enjoys wrestling with her brothers, having her tummy rubbed, and cuddling. Please come see this little beauty and give her the forever home she deserves. However, please understand that Melody has not been fixed yet and therefore will not be able to go home with you for 1-2 weeks.

Our Adoptable Kittens ARE NOT WILD. We take them from the streets at a young age, and most are feral at the time of rescue. However we spend many hours taming, socializing, and acclimating them to indoor life as a pet cat. They are currently friendly, healthy, and playful kittens who are just waiting for their special someone to take them home.

All of our kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites.

If you are interested in adopting one of our kittens, please download an Adoption Application from our website at www.focusonferals.org, and email it to crazyforferals@yahoo.com, or mail it to PO Box is 372, Lowell MI 49331 Our adoption fee is $85 for one kitten and $125 for two.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Melody, a Byron Center Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Byron Center, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Byron Center.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Byron Center already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Byron Center breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Byron Center paves the way for another one to be saved.
