My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy didn't know quite what he was getting into when he hopped into the truck with me in Baltimore (and neither did I). I was in Baltimore on business (non-pooch related) and happened to be talking to a gal who has a small local rescue. We were trading stories and I was telling her about our three little piggies (Fidler, Fifer and Edmund) who are just such cute little scobo terriers but we just can't even get an email about them and she happened to mention that she had a dog that had been waiting for an adopter for months and months and they just couldn't manage to find him a home. So jokingly we said how about a trade. Long story short, Buddy was brought over as I was leaving and was coming back with me. Boy what a cutie but he was pretty rambunctious and I didn't have a crate. I figured it was going to be an awfully long ride back to Chicago....little did I know.

Well Buddy turned out to be a champ in the car. He sat down in the back and watched as the miles flew by, the perfect gentleman. It started to rain and the trailer I was pulling started to feel just a bit funny. We were runnning low on gas so I figured I would pull over and check at the next station...oops that was a mistake. The trailer popped off the hitch and there I was all by my lonesome getting that trailer re-hitched by the side of the road. Buddy was again a very good boy and never tried to get out of the car, just waited patiently for me to get everything back together. But the electric on the trailer was now out and night was coming so it was going to be time to pull over.

Well guess you get to spend a night in a motel and eat McDonalds I told him. So we pulled over and I said, I sure hope you are a good boy in the motel. Well Buddy was good. We went for a nice walk and then I left him all alone in the room and went to get us some dinner. Everything was still fine when I got home...Good Boy. Buddy stayed in the room without any problems for a few hours the next morning while I went out to get the lights fixed on the trailer and finally...back on the road again.

But...it was not to be. A hundred miles or so down the road the truck stuttered and all of the sudden would only go 25 mph. Pull over again and check under the hood (as if I would know what I was doing but hey a gal has to try right?). Limped down the shoulder to the nearest exit and found a service stations. Well the truck needs a new transmission and here Buddy and I sit, togehter waiting. Its going to be a few more days. I sure am glad for Buddy's company. You couldn't ask for a better traveling companion. He does need a little work on not barking quite so much at strangers when we are walking - though he seems to be much more of a lover than a fighter :). We should be back in IL on Tuesday the 10th and I have email and phone service so if you would like to set up a time to meet this great boy .. or one of our other amazing pups drop me an email or give me a call! PS - I am totally guessing on the breeds for this boy but he does have that Beardie look to his face:)
