Shadow's Story...
My name is Shadow. I am a very handsome husky mix. I'm around 6 years old and I've had a pretty rough life. I was surrendered to a shelter in Northern MO with my brother by my previous owners. When my time was up there, Five Acres brought me here where I'm safe until my new family finds me. I would really love a home. I’m nervous around strangers, so it takes me a little while to warm up to new people, but once I know you, I am very sweet and loving. I have a bit of arthritis, so short walks & playtimes are perfect for me and I walk very well on a leash. I also love to go for rides in the car! Because I have such good manners I get to spend my days in one of the staff offices here while I wait for a home. I would do best in a quiet home where I would be a wonderful companion for someone. Closed on Mondays, open from 2-6 Tuesday - Friday, 12-6 on weekends.
Adoption Fee: $95.00

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a St. Charles Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky for sale in St. Charles, or seeking a Husky dog from a breeder in St. Charles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Charles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Charles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky breeders who help with Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Charles paves the way for another one to be saved.
