Maria's Story...
Hi- I'm MARIA! I am approx. 5 years young and I am incredibly loving! I am spayed, UTD on shots, tested negative for HW and I am on a monthly preventative (as all dogs should be!), I am also treated for the prevention of fleas and worms and I had 3 bad teeth pulled at the vets too...so I'm totally healthy and happy now! Phew! I would do best in a calm home where I can be with loving people most of the time. I LOVE to sit on your lap, I love to snuggle under the covers in bed with you at night, and I love trotting around by your side as you do house work or yard work. I am loving, sweet, adorable, kind....and did I mention I love to snuggle?

I do well with potty/puppy pads- and I am working on transitioning from potty pads to just using the outside grass as my potty area- it's a work in progress! To tell you about my past- I lived somewhere where I was used for breeding, over, and over and over again. I lived in awful conditions- and then one day I guess my "owner" thought she was done using me for breeding, so she turned me into the shelter and told the shelter, "I just found her on the road" (well, the shelter thought otherwise- they think it may have been my former owner who turned me in...how sad!) I was so scared in the cage and worried about what would happen next. I had a flea allergy (b/c I had such bad fleas, my hair had started coming out) and my nails had gone unclipped and were long and painful. But the wonderful people at A4A Rescue came and saved me and took me into a terrific volunteer foster home where I live with 2 other dogs and 2 cats- and I do well with them all! I am SO very lucky to be saved and I wish to be adopted into a loving, committed, calm home to call my very own- one that will allow me on the couch, in bed and on a cozy lap. I just adore kind people- and like I mentioned before, I love to be on your lap and to snuggle with you- I am just full of love and happiness to share!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maria, a Xenia Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Xenia, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Xenia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Xenia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Xenia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Xenia paves the way for another one to be saved.
