Penelope's Story...
Penelope 9 yr old female white mitted, blue and white Persian

This cat is a riot. Such a character. To see her it s to smile. Her whiskers are ridiculous, they are all over the place. She has huge white paws and a white bib and moustache . She has been shaved and her fur is growing out into the fuzzy stuffed toy stage.

Look at the last photo in which she is enjoying the warmth of a snooze on a hot day. Flat out on the shelf. How can you not laugh. She is the soul of amiability. Good natured to all. I think probably she is lazy and doesn't bother to bestir herself to object to much. She looks like a cartoon character that's what it is. Penelope the Persian, a new cartoon strip. I can absolutely imagine that.

She has an intense and unlikely story in which she was brought in twice for euthanasia by two different owners. Suffice it to say no one wanted to put down such a little cutie and happily we were able to get her into safety.

She is friendly to all and loves attention. She is big on head butts and will nuzzle your hair. I expect she would love to share the bed with you. She seems to be cat friendly. Don't know about dogs. She would probably be fine with older gentle children.

We have her medical records which don't show much. Itchy skin has been her complaint over the years. Her fur seems a little dry and probably she needs a high quality diet to bring out the shine.

She happily eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penelope, a Davis Persian cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Persian for sale in Davis, or seeking a Persian cat from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Persian breeders who help with Persian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
