My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 06/26/2011: Portia is a sweet 4.5 year old 9.8 lb little girl who is being fostered in Punta Gorda, FL. She is sweet but timid, though Portia is coming out of her shell with lots of love and praise. She has come so far. We are so happy to be able to show her a wonderful life. She gets along with other dogs (though a home with many dogs might be a little overwhelming for her). She loves daily walks so a backyard with a fence is preferable but not necessary. We do think an apartment might have too many noises for her and so a home would be best. Loud noises do scare her (poor baby). She would do best in a home where she doesn't have to be left for hours and hours. If so, she can be crated. Could you be the home Portia has dreamed of

UPDATED BIO 05/13/2011: Portia is a sweet 4.5 year old (chubby) 10 lb little girl who is now being fostered in Punta Gorda, FL. She had this to say...
"Hi everyone! I have only been in my new foster home for a few hours, but I am having SO much fun here! I just played kisses with the cat. (Apparently I don't mind kitties!) Sparky (my foster brother) and I played with some toys. He shared them with me and is very glad I am here. I feel really relaxed and would like to be adopted by a family who will love me, hold me, pet me and just make me feel not so afraid. Having another dog would be great, but not too many animals (that scares me!). Foster family and I are still getting to know each other, but I really need my own family........Could it be you?
Stay tuned.
xoxo

INITIAL BIO 04/25/2011: Portia is a pretty 4.5 year old 10.2 lb little girl who is being fostered in Miramar, FL.

Portia and Nena were surrendered by their breeder. Portia is a sweet, shy little girl who gets along well with other dogs. She is friendly but lacks confidence. She is not leash trained and does need work in the housetraining department. Portia's FM says she is a cuddly doll and once she feels comfortable, will be able to make great strides. We are looking for a patient, loving owner who is willing to continue Portia's housetraining and help to make her a well-adjusted little girlie. A backyard is preferable since she doesn't yet know how to walk on a leash. Another dog is a bonus. Please, no small children as Portia is afraid of loud noises and quick movements. She will be getting her vaccinations updated and her spay/teeth cleaning soon. Thanks for reading about her!
