COOKIE's Story...
I was up for adoption but in 2010 I had a bad reaction to the sedative when I got a dental. I was in pretty bad shape for some time, couldn't walk, blind. Things never did return to normal even though I can walk and see again. Sometimes I forget to use my back legs to jump on the couch, and other things - my brain just dosen't quite work the same. But now I get away with anything and everything. I' m a real cutie but I think I'm better off here, where I know everyone and I have my buddies. It would be nice to have someone sponsor me with a small donation every month. Just go to FATcathaven.org to set up a monthly donation or call your bank. I'm lucky that this is also a retirement home for cats or I would have been euthanized. Sponsoring me would really help with my future medical bills. You could even come visit me. I'm another lovebug. Won't you help me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

COOKIE, a Crescent City Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Crescent City, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Crescent City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Crescent City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Crescent City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Crescent City paves the way for another one to be saved.
