My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Milton Bradley and I am a puppy mill survivor. I lived inside a cage for 5 long years. Not one human ever had a kind word to say to me or a gentle hand to offer me. I was used for breeding. Nothing more, nothing less. I finally was unable to produce puppies and a wonderful lady in rescue asked the Amish man if she could have me. He thought she was crazy since in his world, if a dog isn't working (producing puppies) that dog has no value and should be shot or hit over the head with a shovel. He laughingly agreed to give me to her but told her that she was crazy for choosing me when there were numerous puppies available for sale. She knew what she was doing. She was saving my life. That's when the problem began. I am terribly damaged from all the abuse and neglect. So I prefer to sit on my new bed day and night. The ladies in rescue are forcing me to be touched and I am starting to realize that being touched is not so bad. I know there is a home for me somewhere. I will need someone who loves me in spite of and because of my past. I need someone who has a big lap and lots of time to help me get over the past. I need laughter and kindness. Good food and patience. I need a start. I want to be a real dog but I just don't know where I will find a home that will keep me forever and let me heal.
