found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, purebred, and up to date with shots.
Rileys tail wags constantly as if to say, "I am SO happy you're here!" He often asks to be petted by putting his paw on us or putting his head in our laps. Riley is just so affectionate! He doesn't jump on furniture and he's well behaved when home alone. He is totally housebroken and can be home while people are at work without being crated. Riley is not really into toys and mostly lays down by us when we're home. He is friendly to strangers and is not distracted by other dogs when walked. He does not bark at cars driving by our house. He sleeps on the floor beside our bed. He loves walks and even went running with us for 20 minutes. He comes to us when we call him, even when not on a leash in our fenced backyard. You'd think we've been his owners for a long time by the way he acts and responds to us. He'll warm up to his new owners fast! There really is NO down side to this great dog!
Your eyes are not playing tricks on you yes, this sweet fellow looks like a BLACK Golden Retriever. We believe Riley is a Flat Coated Retriever and is just as awesome as can be! He may have had a mishap in the past as his tail is docked short but it suits him well and is quite adorable! Riley is about 3- 3 ½ years old and will win your heart over as soon as you meet him. He is a loving and easy-going boy and got along well with the female dog he played with. Riley loves to lean into his person and get as close as can be. These black Goldens are much sought after and Riley will not last long. If you would like to find him curled up around your feet after a brisk walk, be sure to apply soon!
If you can offer Riley a loving home, PLEASE APPLY by submitting an application via this online link: APPLY ON-LINE TO ADOPT through our rescue.
A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided.
The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home.
Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed.
