Monroe's Story...
Monroe was taken in as a stray and then surrendered to the pound after getting into some trouble while running loose. He is a Shepherd/Husky mix...maybe, and is about 5 years old. Monroe is a very gentle guy that LOVES attention. He is quiet and very well mannered. He does have heartworms and will have to go through the treatment, which is costly and serious for him. He will have to be kept very quiet for about 3 months after starting treatment. He will then have to be neutered, so sadly, he won't be available for some time, but he is well worth the wait.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Monroe, a Columbia Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
