Elkie's Story...
Elkie is a beautiful, young dog waiting for her forever home. She was found wandering the streets in search for her perfect home. Elkie is full of sweetness and the need to please. She is in a foster home with other dogs and is doing well on her house manners. At night she sleeps in her crate and really enjoys carrying around her toys. Elkie is quite the leash walker and strolls in stride. She loves nuzzling her way in to get that one last rub at the end of the night. Elkie would be a great addition to any home. Elkie's date of birth is approximately December 2010.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elkie, a Columbia Husky/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Border Collie for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Husky/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Border Collie breeders who help with Husky/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
