Hollywood has made a huge transformation since she first arrived at Tree House in April 2011. When we first met Hollywood she was an upset and frightened caterpillar; she didn’t want anyone to touch her. She would hiss and scream when anyone came near her. The man who brought her to Tree House told us she’d been dumped on his porch. We estimate that she was born in 2009.
After a while she did well enough with gentle petting and playtime. In early May, we brought her to the adoption floor. She was very unhappy about having to be around so many other cats. Hollywood formed a cocoon of hisses and swats around her to protect herself from the other cats. She enjoyed petting from people she trusted, but if any cats so much as looked at her, she would get quite angry. One day a playful little black and white cat named Gemina came along helped her emerge from her cocoon. The two can often be seen running around, playing together.
Now, Hollywood is a sweet, gentle butterfly who never even utters a whisper of a hiss. If another cat is eating out of the bowl she wants to eat out of, she simply waits her turn. When visitors approach her, she sweetly rubs against their ankles and accepts as much affection that they will give her. If you are looking for a tender and playful cat, and you are a patient person who understands that change can be scary sometimes, then you two might be perfect for each other!
