Mona's Story...
Mona is a beautiful black tortie. She has beautiful eyes and a black and gold shiny coat.  Mona was rescued by FURR from animal control. She was headed to be euthanized and FURR was called to save her. Mona looked pretty pitiful upon rescue with bones showing, a horrible coat, and she was very frightened. Mona is now healthy, happy, gorgeous, and LOVES to be petted & rubbed. She will easily purr and is so thankful that she was rescued.  Mona is waiting for someone to share her life with.....why don't you come and visit this amazing kitty! Mona is spayed, had all of her shots, and has been tested for feline aids/leukemia (negative!). Adoption to an approved home includes Microchipping! For adoption information or to schedule a visit to the FURR lodge to meet Mona please contact Terry at 864.483.2444. If you are not ready to adopt a kitty, please consider sponsoring (see link on our website – www.catfurr.org)! All donations are tax deductible!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mona, a Waxhaw Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Waxhaw, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Waxhaw.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waxhaw already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waxhaw breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waxhaw paves the way for another one to be saved.
