My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miss Calliope Jane! She is truly a sweetheart. Calliope presently lives with a 16 month old baby and and acts as her sitter as much as possible...checking in on during the day and night. She even alerts her mom when the baby wakes up! She loves other dogs and sleeps her mom's bed at night, curled up with the family cat.

Calliope loves to go for walks. She still pulls on the leash a little when walking but loves to walk - even with the baby stroller. She has typical puppy energy and does best when she can be walked a few miles a day or runs around with another dog.

Her foster mom says: "Callie is a silly, happy girl, our newest nickname for her is Clown; she can have such an outgoing and funny personality that she lends herself to having lots of nicknames! She is slow to trust people, but once she gets to know someone she loves to show off for them, running around and playing fetch (she is a big fan of tennis balls), but when it's time to go in she loves to lay down, either on the floor or on the couch (she prefers the couch) and will either chew on a bone or cuddle with her doggie or human friends. Callie loves other dogs, big or small she loves them all, and so far they all seem to love her back. She also loves to go hiking and when it's appropriate, she can now be trusted to walk off-leash, she stays on the trail with us and has a big smile on her face as she effortlessly bounds up the trail. Callie has recently discovered the ocean! She is very curious around the water and loves to run along the beach, with her feet just barely in the water!

When we are at work Callie stays in her crate and is comfortable there, but if we are only going to be gone for a few hours we leave her out of the crate, with our other dogs and she does a great job keeping the couch warm while were gone. At night Callie sleeps in the bed with us or on the floor with our other dogs, as far as I can tell she is not used to being crated at night and I think that it would actually make her feel anxious being separated from us, knowing we are in the house, I would not recommend crating her at night.

She is such a very sweet girl.

**Please note: we do not have a physical location, we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.**
