Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This beautiful girl is MAIZY, a 3 year-old spayed female Shepherd mix. She came from a neglectful hoarding situation and was a rack of bones when rescued. Shes been brought back to a healthy weight and is thriving. She is also UTD on all her vaccinations.
Maizy currently lives in a foster home with 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 young boys. Shes been reported to be an almost perfect family dog. She is loving and playful, has great house manners and walks very well on the leash. She is respectful to humans, loves kids, and has no guarding behaviors. However, physical punishment was used on Maizy in the past and she is averse to many commands, and flinches at fast hand movements. Her foster mom has been working with her to teach her that hands dont hurt, and training her different cue words for the same commands. She is lovingly called Amazing because she continues to learn and thrive every day.
Maizy benefits from daily exercise and does well on off-leash hikes in the woods. Maizy would do best in a country setting where she can play part-time watchdog and not bother the neighbors. Maizy would benefit from an experienced human leader that understands how to continue her rehabilitation and training with confidence and consistency.
Maizy will be adopted out of her foster home and potential adoptions will require a home check, reference check and veterinarian check.
We would love to find Maizy the loving home she deserves. Please visit our web site to find out about our adoption process.
