Pixie's Story...
Hi, everyone, we’re Pixie and Bubba. We don’t like to brag, but aren’t we two of the cutest pugs you’ve ever seen? Our former owners dropped us off at a shelter but luckily for us, Pug Rescue of Florida picked us up and took us to a nice foster home. We’ve lost the only home we ever knew, but at least we still have each other. We’re very attached and want to be adopted together. Really, two pugs are just as easy as one. You can feed us together, walk us together, bathe us together, and we keep each other company when the humans aren’t home. Like all pugs, we love cuddling, tummy rubs, and just being the spoiled lap dogs we were meant to be. We’re potty trained, crate trained, perfectly behaved, and healthy. We’ve had three litters of puppies and we’re ready to put parenthood behind us. PROOF is getting us spayed and neutered and updating our vaccines. We’ll soon be ready to go to our forever home. If you love us (who wouldn’t?) but can’t adopt us, please consider making a donation to PROOF to help with the vet bills for us and all our pug friends.

Special Note from Bubba: I have vision problems but get around fine in familiar places. I prefer a house without stairs or a lot of obstacles (such as kids’ toys all over the floor), and either leash walks or a small fenced yard with no access to a pool.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Windermere Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Windermere, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Windermere.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windermere already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windermere breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windermere paves the way for another one to be saved.
