Maya is a wonderful dog. She came from a shelter in Ohio after her family couldn't take her to their new home. She has a gentle temperament and loves petting and attention. She is a fast runner and really enjoys the fenced yard where she can speed around as much as she wants. She walks well on a leash, stops pulling when corrected. She can be shy with new people but she warms up and is really snuggly once she's comfortable with you. She will often sit on my foot with her head by my knee when I'm sitting down in a chair and she can't jump up next to me. She has a good loud bark to alert you when company is coming, but she doesn't bark excessively. Her coat is short and she doesn't shed much. She loves chewing on tough rawhide bones. She walks into her crate at bedtime and sleeps quietly all night. She has also been spending days in the crate and has lots of energy when she is released. She has a tendency to jump on people to gain attention, but is learning the command, "off." She also responds to, "sit," and always sits for food and treats. She is a great dog!
