This handsome boy is Kodi. He is a 3 year old Labrabor mix, with something else in there for good measure, and weighs 94 lbs. Kodi is a wonderful dog who is housetrained, crate-trained, and fairly well leash-trained. He can be left loose in the house when his foster parents are not home and at night. He is very good around children of all ages and loves to give kisses to his 20 month old human foster sibling. He really enjoys playing and wrestling with his dog foster siblings and would be an excellent playmate for another medium to large dog. However, Kodi should not going into a home with a little dog or cat. Kodi also loves to go running with his foster mom and would be a very good running companion. Kodi has settled well into his foster home and is very easy-going and relaxed. He listens well to his foster parents and is motivated to please. Kodi would make an excellent addition to any family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kodi, a Overland Park Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
