Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Smokie
8 yo Male Maine Coon/Cymric Declaw
Hi, my name is Smokie, and I am quite the wild-looking dark tabby Maine Coon/Cymric mix. (This means I have a tiny little tail, with long hair hanging off of it that you really have to see to appreciate.)
I used to belong to an older gentleman, whom I adored, but he passed away. My "relatives" were not willing to take me in and they dumped me at the local shelter! I couldn't believe it! There I was, horribly depressed over losing my human, and then I get dumped into a very frightening place in a cold metal cage, oh the horror of it; I just can't talk about it anymore.
I was so sad, I stopped eating and lost a bunch of weight (but I don't recommend the "shelter diet"). The shelter called my foster mom and asked her to take me in, please! She took one look at me, and said "of course!" and now I am being fostered in Lincoln.
As nice as she is, I have to admit, I really prefer men! I rub on her husband, I butt him with my head for more petting, I climb in his lap and sometimes I sing if I'm feeling really good. I am slowly getting my weight back, and am up to a little over 12 pounds now, but should gain another 2 or 3 pounds to be at my best.
I prefer adults, and I NEVER want to ever go outside again! Sometimes I sit in the window and look outside, but I have to say, the outdoors does not interest me a bit! I can tolerate dogs, but don't especially like them. I'm tested, altered, up to date on my shots.
What I really want is a home of my own, a male human to love me and hold me, and a warm spot to take a nap. If I sound like the cat for you, please email my foster mom, or call us!
