Dutchess's Story...
Dutchess came to DreamCatchers in April 2011 badly emaciated infested with lice and other parasites and in serious need of a hoof trim. In less than 30 days, she has been rid of her parasites and lice, gotten her manicure and put on about 100 pounds, She has also shed her shaggy winter coat and looks like a milion bucks. We have not been able to determine her level of training yet because of her depleted body condition but she is nearly healthy enough to be evaluated and any additional training can be started. She is sweet, beautiful and very cuddly now. She will soon make someone an awesome riding partner.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dutchess, a Pueblo Paint/Pinto was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Paint/Pinto for sale in Pueblo, or seeking a Paint/Pinto from a breeder in Pueblo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pueblo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pueblo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Paint/Pinto breeders who help with Paint/Pinto rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pueblo paves the way for another one to be saved.
