Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Lizzie! This sweet girl is approximately 1 y/o, a Beagle/Harrier mix, found by a rescuer late one February evening when she was running along side a busy highway. Lizzie was especially thin with ribs and pelvic bones exposed Temperatures were to dip in the single digits that evening, but fortunately Lizzie was so friendly and hungry that it was not difficult to coax her into the car. Off to the vet she went. She is now up to date on all vaccinations, is spayed, microchipped and registered with Home Again, heartworm NEGATIVE, and sooo ready for her furever home! She has been a foster of her rescue angel, who reports that Lizzie is house trained and crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night. Lizzie is a young, energetic girl, still a puppy herself in many ways. She loves her life now and wonders why she had to wait a year to experience human kindness and belly rubs. She is very affectionate and lives in harmony with a young foster brother, a lab/golden mix, and her rescuers personal rescue, a 7 y/o Rottie girl. Her favorite game is sock tug-of-war with her foster friends, all much larger than Lizzie, but she can hold her own in tug-of-war. She shows interest in the stray cats of the neighborhood, but we dont know if she just wants to play. Lizzie would love a home where someone is home much of the day to take her on long walks and hikes, so that she can sniff everything good life now offers her. Ideally, she would love a buddy too but would be content to be an only dog with a human companion at home. No small children just yet is probably best, since Lizzie is still a pup herself and loves to run and jump and could knock down a toddler. There is not a mean bone in her little 30-pound body though. She is not a nipper--just a very sweet, happy, fun-loving, cutie pie who enjoys being loved. Lizzie would be especially grateful if you could open your heart and home to her and let her be a part of your family. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THESE PUPS ARE RESCUES, THEIR BREED MIX AND BIRTH DATES ARE UNKNOWN, BUT, WITH THE HELP OF OUR VET, WE MAKE THE BEST EDUCATED GUESS. We have no physical shelter. All of our pups are fostered in private homes. If you are interested in adopting Lizzie, please email Diana at dmoore2003@bellsouth.net.
