Health Status to date:
Kasey is heartworm negative as of August 10th, 2006, up-to-date on all her shots, believed to be spayed prior to entering GSGRR, and she has a clean bill of health from our attaining veterinarian. She does experience mild seasonal allergies with tear stains and occasional grunting sound from her sinus cavity (vet says it's no biggie), but that is quickly overlooked when you see her adorable pigtails in person. She is now on heartworm preventative and frontline plus.
Overall Disposition:
Kasey is great with children, house trained, crate trained, extremely calm disposition, very seldom barks unless it's for guarding the premises, pleasantly plump at 82 lbs, loves to fetch, knows commands of "sit","come Kasey", "road trip", and "kennel up" thus far, shy at first with strangers, good with dogs, may require her own eating den away from other dogs because she likes her own kibble, unknown with cats, loves to fetch, well mannered for bathtime and car rides, and all around a great companion. Kasey will act like a sea turtle hidden in her shell with a new dog or stranger, but she quickly comes out of her shell to meet and greet.
History of Kasey:
Kasey was surrendered by a grandmother that had taken in Kasey from a neglectful situation as the family pet along with all her grandchildren. Grandma tried to do the very best with Kasey, but was quickly overwhelmed with the new living arrangements and having to raise her grandchildren now. Grandma made the sound decision to enroll Kasey with GSGRR so she could have a better life. Kasey lived most of her life in a very small caged area in the backyard. It's believe she might have had a litter of puppies at one time, but unknown to GSGRR. It's safe to assume she is predominantly purebred golden retriever, but no pedigree papers to prove such findings. Kasey is considered a precious pearl found in a clam shell that was washed ashore and overlooked by many...that was until GSGRR exploration team found her on the Island of Golden Plenty.
Kasey is ready for her new golden paradise.... so what are you waiting for? This "maile leis" (hawaiian term meaning VIP - very important pooch) deserves a forever island to soak up the sun and enjoy the rays of human companionship.
