Sierra's Story...
:

We received a desperate call in mid-Sept. from a Dallas-area animal control officer about little Sierra. She had been found huddling underneath a parked car in a congested area. We have no idea how she wound up there...such a tiny baby girl, all alone. Fortunately, she was found and taken to safety before anything could happen to her. We rescued Sierra at about 9 weeks of age, which would put her birthdate on or about 7/17/06. Sierra has made her first trip to the vet, for an exam, spay, worming and has had her first 2 sets of shots. Our $175 adoption fee also helps cover the cost of 1 more round of puppy boosters. Sierra is a happy girl. She is affectionate, friendly girl who, like most puppies, plays hard and naps hard. Sierra is also a big fan of meal time and is growing like a weed - long and lean. We estimate that Sierra will be around 50 lbs. when she's full-grown. She will need a new mom or dad who are ready to take on the responsibility of a puppy and all that goes along with it. Sierra would do best in a home with another energetic, friendly dog to play with. When Sierra is a little older, she will need to participate with her new mom or dad in obedience classes, to help her transition successfully into a well-behaved adult dog and into her human family. **Applicants for Sierra must have a verifiable history with a vet.** If you would like to give Miss Sierra Lucille a loving, permanent home, please complete our online application today: www.tassieshope.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sierra, a Carrollton German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever for sale in Carrollton, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Carrollton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carrollton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carrollton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carrollton paves the way for another one to be saved.
