Harpo's Story...
As you can see from Harpo's photos and video he has gone through quite the transformation. We keep telling him that he is too beautiful now to be a boy! We are confident he'll look a bit more "boy-like" once he puts on some much needed weight. Despite Harpo being in terrible condition when we saved him he has a wonderful personality. He is an active boy who likes to run and romp but his most favorite thing is people! Even at the dog park he never strays far from our volunteers. He runs back every few minutes to check in with them and of course is eager to greet all the new people at the dog park too!

Harpo rides great in the car and does well with other dogs although Harpo could live in a home as an only dog too. Harpo needs a home with folks that want an affectionate lap dog. He enjoys laying by your side on the sofa or snuggling with you in bed! Additionally Harpo needs a home with daily runs or long walks to help burn off his energy. If that sounds like your home, please complete an application for this handsome boy today - www.azrescue.org.

Harpo weighed 20 pounds when we saved him from the kill list.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harpo, a Phoenix Wheaten Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wheaten Terrier for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Wheaten Terrier dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wheaten Terrier breeders who help with Wheaten Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
