Lucky's Story...
Lucky really is a lucky dog! Rescued from a hoarding situation, this chessie mix had never had a proper meal, or vet care. He spent his days locked in a broken down car or roaming the neighborhood looking for food.
Before coming to ADPR, Lucky never knew what it was like to sleep on a cushion, or to go a day without being hungry. He didn't know what it was like to be clean, or to feel loved. Now he's living a whole new life! You'd never know that the big goof who hogs his foster mom's bed is the same dog we rescued. Lady Luck is finally smiling down on him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucky, a Wasilla Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Wasilla, or seeking a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Wasilla.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wasilla already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wasilla breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wasilla paves the way for another one to be saved.
