Diesel's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Diesel's Story...

Diesel is a great 120 lb. 8-year old purebred Rottweiler. He is a sweet boy who listens well and is eager to learn and please. He is very sociable with people and loves to have his head and belly rubbed. He enjoys his walks and his naps equally!

After living in a kennel for nearly 2 years, Diesel has been with a foster family for a year, but he would love to find his forever home. Due to Diesel's size we are looking for a home with previous Rottweiler experience, as well as a home where he would be the only pet, as he is not good with cats and doesn't always do well with other dogs.

Given the time, effort and LOVE that goes into the care of these dogs by our foster homes, kennels and volunteers, our adoption process is a very thorough one. We ask that you please take this into consideration when applying to adopt a dog from us. SOAR does not rush the adoption process. We are dedicated to matching the right dog with the right home and, as such, require an application process, interview process, reference checks, adoption fee and contracts all to be completed.

We are a volunteer run organization and strive to respond to emails and inquiries in a timely manner.

About Southern Ontario Animal Rescue (S.O.A.R.)

About Our Rescue Group...

S.O.A.R. is a (very) small but very dedicated group of volunteers in Southern Ontario, Canada, committed to rescuing all breeds of dogs in need.

With extremely limited resources, S.O.A.R. (a non-profit organization) rescues every single dog that it is able to, including dogs that have been abandoned or rejected due to ill health, abnormalities or old age; something most rescue groups are unable or unwilling to do.

We are able to do this only with the public's generosity. We receive no funds from any agency, corporation or government. All monies are raised through the time and efforts of our volunteers at events through out the year, such as dog shows, pet shows like All About Pets and SOAR-run events like our annual Christmas Party, Spring Fling, etc.

Our goal is to find loving, life-time homes for our dogs. We screen all potential adoptive and foster homes carefully, including reference checks, home visits and follow-ups. All dogs available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and fully vaccinated.

When possible, our animals are fostered with real families to ensure that they are sound, good-natured pets. They also come with a life-time guarantee: If, at any time, for any reason, an adoption does not work out, we ask that you bring the dog back to us.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Dog shows, pet shows like All About Pets and SOAR-run events like our annual Christmas Party, Summer Dog Days, etc.

Our Adoption Process...

All S.O.A.R. dogs have been spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, fully vaccinated and vet checked.

Adoption applications can be sent by email, regular mail, filling one out on line or by download.

Applications are NOT processed on a first-come, first-served basis, as we strive to match the right pet to the right home. After initial screening, if your application for adoption is approved, your references will be checked and a home visit will be conducted. For more information on adopting one of our dogs, please contact us.

Adoption donations are as follows:

Dogs - $325.00

These donations cover the costs of spaying/neutering, all vaccinations and micro-chipping; as well as covering any other costs incurred while rescuing and re-homing the animals, such as kennel fees, food & any medications.

Due to the Ontario Liberal government, in particular, Ontario Attorney-General Michael Bryant, please ensure you are fully aware of the terms and conditions of the Dog Owners Liability Act ("pit bull" ban) and are able to commit fully to any dog that will fall under this law.
