If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Pre-Qualification Form, and return it to email@example.com. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; pets are in volunteer foster homes.
Paxton here - looking for a good home. I'm one of the sweetest and gentlest guys you'll ever meet.
Although a little shy at first, I warm up quickly after a few gentle pets and belly rubs. I just need a little time to get to know you....I'm not one of those brutes that charges in and knocks things off the coffee table....I'm usually in stealth mode and follow mom around the house while quietly exploring.
I was born in April 2007, and have recently been returned to ARPO after being dumped at the local shelter. I was adopted as a small puppy and thank goodness for my microchip getting me back into ARPO's foster care! That shelter was pretty scary with a lot of barking going on and I retreated into a shell for a few days since I'd never experienced anything like that!
Now that I'm in my foster home, I'm enjoying playing with the other pups/dogs and playing in the yard with them. I'm filling out nicely now that I'm comfortable and currently weigh about 45# - just need to pack on a few more groceries and top out about 50#. I've been trying to persuade mom to feed me cheeseburgers to fatten me back up....she said 'No Dice!' My favorite past time is sitting by my foster mom at night for tv-time and getting gentle head pats and chin scratches. I curl up by the recliner and you'd never know I was even there.
My back leg is a little bent from an old fracture that was never set correctly. While healing on it's own, it formed a knot on the outer edge and makes me look like a bowed legged cowboy! I'm not in pain and usually don't walk with much of a limp either. The vet checked me out with xrays and said I'm good to go.
