Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Disposition: sweet, loving
Peaches is a great orange tabby, unusual for a female because 80% of orange tabbies are males. So, she's special right away. She is certainly a favorite in her foster home where she mushes on everybody, rubbing and purring, and letting on how happy she is.
But she was almost a tragedy. When we pulled her from a city shelter, the shelter staff thought she was pregnant and they were waiting for her to have her babies. We pulled her from the shelter so she could have her babies in a quiet home. That was not to be. The day we pulled her, we took her to a vet to see how far along she was. The vet was puzzled because she looked like she was about to have babies, but he could not feel one baby in her tummy. After keeping her overnight, the vet realized something was dramatically wrong and Peaches had to undergo an emergency hysterectomy. She was not pregnant; she had a massive fluid buildup that was going septic. If we had not pulled her from the shelter, she would have died.
Her recovery took some time, and now she is filling out again, gaining her proper weight. Her coat looks wonderful. One thing never seemed to diminish, though. And that was her wonderful attitude. She knew she was safe; she knew we cared; and everyday, she cares right back.
Peaches would do well in a quiet home with low energy and stability.
