Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Disposition: quiet, affectionate
Shalimar is a lovely torti-point Siamese with stunning blue eyes and a typical Siamese way of talking. She is utterly sweet and loving when she feels safe, and when she doesn't, she is very clingy, and sometimes won't let you put her down, burrowing her head into you. This beautiful lady needs a low energy home, without young children, dogs, or other cats.
She came to us from a home where she was no longer welcome just because she did not get along with the new kitten. She had been with her family for five years as the only cat. She was happy until the family brought in a new kitten for the young daughter. Shalimar's happy life eroded from that point on. She was isolated from the rest of the family, then turned out. When we took her in, she was deeply devastated and grieved terribly day after day. She never lashed out. She was never aggressive or defensive. She was simply depressed and lost. Now that she has been with us for several weeks, she has opened up and demonstrated over and over how affectionate she is and how much she wants to bond to someone.
A loving cat, Shalimar would make a wonderful companion for someone willing to let her settle in as the only cat. She will thrive in a home without young children or dogs.
