Mateus's Story...
Mateus, previously called Blaine, is a dog we received from Taiwan in February, 2009. He was eventually adopted in the fall by a woman who loves Dobies and desired two of them. Unfortunately, Mateus had to be returned in November because he had challenged her on two occasions. The circumstances aren't really known, but it's clear that Mateus needs a dominant figure he respects; perhaps it needs to be a man. He does get along with large female dogs, and he's not destructive. Mateus is 5 years old and he's solidly built, with cropped ears that don't stand.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mateus, a Fillmore Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in Fillmore, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in Fillmore.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fillmore already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fillmore breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fillmore paves the way for another one to be saved.
