Dutch's Story...
Dutch (male)
Hello! The nice people who found me call me Dutch. They don't know my real name because I don't have a collar. I am a very sweet boy, and I like to play, but don't worry- I'm not overly rambunctious! I really enjoy the attention, but I'm just happy to have a nice soft bed to lay down on. My caretakers have another dog, who I get along with really well, but I really don't like their two cats! They also have a cute 4 month old baby boy, and I just love to lick his toes! I'm very careful around him, though, and I don't jump up on them or the couch, because I don't want to hurt the baby. I'm a medium sized dog [around 35lbs], I am not neutered, and I have no idea when the last time was that I received shots. I would love a forever home with someone who will love me and take care of me! If you would like to meet me, please call Melody at 318-550-8841, or you can email her at . I can't wait to hear from you! There is a screening process to adopt me and my adoption fee is a suggested donation to Pet Savers of $30 for their help in rehoming me and to help assure I go to a good home. Once you adopt me, PLEASE get me spayed/neutered to help control the HUGE overpopulation and euthanasia rate in this area. Robinson’s Rescue low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic (Shreveport) offers special low-cost pricing for spaying and neutering. Call 318-861-0101 for your spay/neuter appointment ONLY, not about me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dutch, a Haughton Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
