My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Please note: we do not have a physical location, we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.**

This little guy is Paw Paw. Paw Paw is about 12 weeks old.

Paw Paw was left out on a very cold and snowy night, along side of the road, but thank goodness for a nice man to stop and get him. He had put him in his shed for the night and then called the local shelter so that they could give him a warm place to stay. Please keep him warm in your heart and give him a forever home.

Paw Paw has arrived in Maine! His foster mom has this to say about Paw Paw: "This little guy is a real love bug. He prefers the company of his foster mom over other dogs, but gets along and is very playful with his 80 lb, foster brother, Curly. He has no desire to bolt out the door, but prefers to cautiously look out and check the surroundings. He wont go out without his mom and always seems anxious to come back in. He has learned several things in the past week:

The sofa and the bed are okay for a nap, but I have to stay out of moms chair; if I have to go and Im not outside, I go out on the deck; Its not okay to chew on the corners of the coffee table; Its okay if mom kisses my face ten times a day (I really like it); I have to eat my own breakfast and dinner and no one elses, even though I eat like a little piggy!

Some other things about PawPaw he doesnt bark, but he does whimper if he thinks hes been in his crate too long. If he wants my attention he just squeaks. His leash walking is very good, but he wants to stop and eat things along the way. He especially likes the wildflowers that in bloom right now. He is fearless and gentle and at the same time is extremely goofy.

He learns so fast and he is so in control of himself that I think he must be an old soul. My guess is that his goofy nature comes from a basset hound relative. My daughter calls him Poindexter. But no matter what he is, he is a wonderful, healthy, lovable, easygoing puppy who learns extremely fast and will make some family very happy to have him!"
