Cora's Story...
I got a call on Friday. She had wandered into a home and lady was keeping her chained inside an outbuilding. She wanted to keep the skinny dog out of the sight of her brother-in-law. He is ready to shoot the dog even if it is not bothering him. She asked if I could come and get the dog before Monday........deadline to prevent her from being shot. What I found the next morning was heart breaking. This thin female dog was chained to the building and she was about a week away from giving birth. Cora, as she is now called, looked at me with large gentle brown eyes and her natural bobbed tail wagged. I loaded her in my truck. Cora became a rescue dog. A week later she gave birth to 9 puppies. This dog allowed me to check on her during their birth but was an excellent mother. Cora was constantly cleaning them. When the puppies were 10 weeks old all were adopted and in loving homes. Cora almost has her girlish figure back. She has been spayed and is ready for a forever home of her own. Cora will climb a tree after a squirrel, move a cow out of the way, ride shotgun in your truck, climb on your atv, then go inside and take a nap with the kids. Cora is a truly all around good dog. She deserves to spend the rest of her life in a loving family of her own.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cora, a Melbourne Mountain Cur/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mountain Cur/Boxer for sale in Melbourne, or seeking a Mountain Cur/Boxer dog from a breeder in Melbourne.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Melbourne already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Melbourne breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mountain Cur/Boxer breeders who help with Mountain Cur/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Melbourne paves the way for another one to be saved.
