Carlos's Story...
6/9/2011: Carlos is an 11 month old short haired tabby and white male. He has been in a home with 5 other indoor cats and he has been kept indoor since he was a kitten. Unfortunately, Carlos does not get along with 2 of the other cats and the caretaker has had a recent medical problem that is preventing her from being able to care for 6 cats. Carlos is a very sweet boy. According to his caretaker, Carlos loves to sleep with you and snuggle. He gets along with the other 3 cats so we feel he could be adopted to a home that already has a kitty or he would do fine as an only cat. Carlos was very shy for his photo shoot but he was at the vet office so you can't really blame him. He has an adorable white stripe down the middle of his back making him a little unique. If you are interested in helping Carlos and giving him a new forever home, please e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com for an adoption application. You can also speak to our coordinator, Robin, on the weekends at PetsMart in Butler Plaza on Archer Road in Gainesville, FL from 11am-3pm every Sat and Sun. Carlos is not scheduled to go to our adoption site at PetsMart for another 6 weeks but we could arrange for you to meet him if you are interested in adopting. All of our cats and kittens have been leukemia tested, vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Our adoption fee is $100 to help cover a portion of the medical and care costs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carlos, a Putnam Hall Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Putnam Hall, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Putnam Hall.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Putnam Hall already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Putnam Hall breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Putnam Hall paves the way for another one to be saved.
